Mission Statement

The goal of the Southern Arizona Soccer Referee Association (SASRA) is to enhance the soccer experience for all USSF soccer referees officiating in Southern Arizona. In addition, SASRA hopes to foster and promote the highest possible standard of soccer refereeing in Southern Arizona by carrying out the National Referee Development Program of the United States Soccer Federation and providing all USSF referees with the opportunity to achieve the highest possible grade, based on each individual referee's desire, talent and commitment.

To accomplish this goal, SASRA will...

  1. provide initial training for all new referees;
  2. facilitate the acquisition of initial and advanced training for instructors, assessors and assignors;
  3. provide annual recertification clinics for all licensed USSF referees, instructors, assessors and assignors;
  4. provide referees with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills with local game assignments, and facilitate the process of obtaining assignments outside of Tucson, both in and out of Arizona;
  5. provide assessors at the request of individual referees for maintenance and upgrade assessments;
  6. provide assessors and mentors to Southern Arizona youth and adult leagues for the purpose of observing and mentoring the referees working within each of their leagues.
